History & Origins
Tibetan Pulsing carries the pulse of an ancient, yet contemporary tantric tradition, bridging the wisdom of Tibet with the needs for healing of our time.
The roots of Tibetan Pulsing reach back into the heart of Tibetan tantric healing practices and the living lineage of tantric meditation masters
Its modern form was transmitted through Shantam Dheeraj (Rudolph Murley), who before meeting Osho had got transmissions and practiced with Tibetan and Chinese masters. Among them were great masters such as Dudjom Rinpoche, Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, and Kalu Rinpoche.
From Dudjom Rinpoche, Dheeraj received tantric healing methods, meeting him in person and being transported by him into the 4th dimension, a higher dimension of experience.
From Kalu Rinpoche, he was initiated into tantric meditation practices and into the mandala of a tantric deity — a transmission that goes back to the Indian Mahasiddha Naropa and his disciple Marpa, founders of a Tibetan tantric meditation lineage.
Kalu Rinpoche recognized Dheeraj as an incarnation of Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo, affirming his rapid progress and signs of accomplishment. In meditation, Dheeraj received visions of 24 male and 24 female digits, along with a specific diagram. He also developed the ability to hear the vocal tone corresponding to one of the 24 organs or frequencies within the human nervous system — an ability that astonished Kalu Rinpoche.
At that time, Kalu Rinpoche entrusted him with a Tibetan circular diagram of 96 symbols, known as the Tadyatha, telling him: “This will one day open your eye.” Dheeraj later translated the meaning of these symbols into contemporary language, rendering them into the circular eye diagrams now used in Tibetan Pulsing eye reading.
A Hidden Practice Revealed
According to Dheeraj, the essence of Tibetan Pulsing was practiced — and continues to be practiced — in secret within Tibetan monasteries under the Six Yogas of Naropa. Only a few initiated practitioners knew and still know of it, working with the same tantric energy flow, though the outer forms appear different.
From the 96 terms derived from the Tadyatha symbols, Dheeraj channeled The Tonal One, a foundational text that continues to inspire the Tibetan Pulsing Intensive today. Like a few rare Tibetan masters before him, Dheeraj was also a Terton — a “finder of secret treasures.”
The Living Transmission
The origins of Tibetan Pulsing thus bridge ancient tantric meditation, the lineage of Naropa and Marpa, and the visionary transmissions received by Dheeraj. Rooted in tradition yet expressed in contemporary form, Tibetan Pulsing carries forward a unique tantric healing practice — a path of nervous system healing, trauma release, and awakening presence.
